You will always make profit if you alc the right stuff.
If you make the nats and the items you are going to alc you will get bigger profits.

Lets say you buy 1k Nats for 300ea and alc 1k Yew longs that you have made.
    So heres the maths:

    1000 x 300 = 300,000
Next you alc the Yew Longs
    1000 x 768 =768,000

    So there is profit.

providing you dont spend anything on getting the materials you will make a profit on anything that will give you more than 300gp when you alch them.

Remember, the price of the yew longs

    1,000 x 300 = 300,000 gp
    550ea x 1000 = 550,000 gp
    1000 x 768 = 768,000 gp
Gp Loss = 82,000 gp PER 1k Yew long alchs.

    Really the maths is about:

    Nats: 300gp
    Bowstring: 200gp
    Yew log: 300gp
    So thats 800ish per bow..

Alch for 768, not a profit, but if you substitute the bowstring for flax(100), and spin it yourself, you can amke 68k per K
