They're supposed to knock down your rep for breaking the rep rules, but they don't. I agree though, something like:

Caution = -50
Temporary = -100
Anything Else = -200 each time.

Or maybe make it so an Infraction automatically docks you 25 rep :p

That's very true, I don't think it would have much effect. If anything then it would encourage people to break the rules more because they will contest to get the most red rep blocks .
