    Wha? Hard drive manufactures wanted to make 1GB = 1000mb becuse it made hard drives sound bigger.

    1 GB is always 1024 MB, It cant not be, Computers work in binary, and so many bits are used to hold the size of a number. 1000 is a term used in deanry logic, under binary the number isnt the top level before the units switch its 1024.
