Exactly wootzy and ex. The news forum is flooded with pointless, repetitive, and wrongly placed threads, that do not seem to be taken care of.

The habbox forum is basically ok, but the news forums are falling to pieces, this is why I have stopped posting news here, because I know that my thread will be repeated about 15 times in less than an hour.
    Resigned from Habbox.

Well thanks, considering I moderate the News forums.
We all try our best, and I think most of us enjoy this job, if we didn't we would've quit.
If it's a repetitive thread, use the report a bad post button, makes it easier as you bring direct attention on to duplicates, instead of us looking at every thread and fixing it.

No we couldn't because we do try and do our jobs to the best of our ability. We like to help out by doing this, which is why we chose to work the job. Also, I don't think you'd react very positively if we were rude to you when answering your questions. Everyone wants to be, and deserves to be treated with respect, no matter who they are

Are you faulting the moderators of the news section for that? Because we don't post those threads, people like you do. And you shouldn't condemn them for that. I'm sure you have posted news that others have posted before you atleast once. I can't understand why this is a fault of the management/moderation of HabboxForums atleast in the news forum. Would you rather we completely cut off all news? Many people come to us for our news. In fact, the two biggest factors of Habbox's popularity are its news and its rare values. The news forum is for you guys to post news that our hardworking news staff might not know. After all, though they try their best at their jobs, nobody is perfect.

Also, besides the purpose of getting more news, this helps us get more views on certain news. Maybe somebody has a different edge, view, or side of the story or something like that for one of our articles? The news forum is the best way, and most efficient to get that out. Additionally, how else are we going to look for new news reporters? Some people don't want to email news in all the time, and frankly, the news reporters couldn't read all that mail. Also, looking on other fansites could be useless because some people just take it from other fansites. You also hear things you wouldn't normally see on news pages on webbies in the news forum. Some people posted rumours about the Habbo Staff's headquarters and somebody even found a website that got us alot of info on Becs. That kind of stuff we can't actually put on the website but you guys technically are allowed to post it.

As for us not dealing with it, as you said there are many, many threads and posts to take care of and as Gomme and I previously said, we can't spend every waking moment perusing the forums for those threads. Just to give you an idea on how much work it is to edit a post (not even a thread because that takes even more work) I'll explain to you the basic steps of editing a post:

    1) You Must Find The Post
    2) You Must Figure Out What Forum Rule, If Any, That The Post Is Breaking
    3) You Must Find The Appropriate Warning For That Post

Those Three Above Steps Can Take Anywhere From 30 Seconds To 2-5 Minutes Depending on the Seriousness

    But There's More:

    4) You Must Edit The Post
    5) You Must Fill In The Appropriate Warning And Make Sure You Made Your Warning Bold And Red
    6) You Must Then Send The Appropriate Warning, Also, You Have To Send The Link Which Involves For Me Opening A New Window, Going Back To The Thread And Copying And Pasting It

The Above Steps Can Take From 2-5 To Maybe Even More Minutes

That's JUST for editing a post. When you need to move threads or lock them you need to use the forum tools, lock it, or edit it then move it making sure you don't leave a redirect and ghost etc. etc.

That's just to give you a sense of how much work goes into editing a single post. We have to do that several times a day, and we have to keep up with our real lives as well as have some fun online, we don't do this just to work, this is basically volunteer work.

And I will restate my point that it is not our fault if you choose to post things in the wrong place or repetitively and many do not do it on purpose! We do try our best to help but it is a lot of work! Just try and take it into consideration that we do work hard, we do try our best, but it is alot of hard work. Also take into account that we do this for free getting no real profit out of it, we do this to help you. So think, maybe the forums aren't perfect now, but what would they be like without any staff or mods? If you were getting harassed, needed a name change, or whatever else, what would you do if the friendly admins and mods weren't there to help? So try not to criticize before thinking on all we do and all we try to do, it isn't exactly the easiest job. Maybe if you guys tried it for a bit you would understand exactly what we go through.

Edit: While I was spending hours posting all this Butcher beat me to the punch :p But seriously, I know Butcher and know he's a great worker and has been doing his job for years and he definetely doesn't deserve this nor do any of the other mods

Wow, habbox's modirtion sysetm leave a littel to be desired, Is this just a flaw in implention? or VB, cuz Ipb, warn panle, allows u to do all that quickly and efficantly from a single menu.
Plus why not use a base warning and edit the names for the rules broken, as habbox rules arnt exscalt manouly hard to remember.

Maybe someone should redue the warning protacol is its that ineffciant "/ no wonder no big forums use VB if u have 2 do all that sepretly "/

We need to have the exact rules, what would members think if we just posted:
Edit by me (forum mod)_ Moved to Anything not to do with habbo(x)
    Compared to correct:
Edit by Butcher11 (Forum Moderator)- Moved from Anything not do with Habbo(x). Please post in correct forum.

It isn't that troublesome, but time-consuming, but that's the price with the rockin' job. (Gotta love it to stay with it)
And Nvrspk, you don't deserve that either :eusa_danc

They (as in VB people) should make a button where you can save stuff you use all the time, and *click* it's inserted into your post. Imagine that:

    "Oh no a double post"
    *edit*
    *click*
Edited by Jacko2kn3: Please don't double post, simply edit your previous post is inserted.

I dont know VB's forum and databse struture to well, but taht would probly be qui6te a simple thing to mod in, just modifing the post phaser, to adidn in a if statement insted of just the messages sreuture, and at an exstra check box system. "/
