how did you find out about the band you are listening to?

Modest Mouse was the first ever indie band I liked (I didnt even know what indie was until a year later). I heard their song "Ocean Breathes Salty" online and thought it was weird (now its not weird at all to me) but good, so I got their CD Good News For People Who Love Bad News and loved it. I never heard music like that before, and in my mind it was groundbreaking stuff. I was like "man, more bands should make stuff like this" and once I found out there was an entire scene of these bands, I became an indie kid.

Balzac... was looking at the Misfits website one day and saw a link to them there. Downloaded a load of their stuff and been a fan since.

I found out about Sonic Youth because of name recognition. I heard of them a long time ago, but didnt know who they were. It wasent until recently I thought Id check them out more.

well i was like listening to lots of pop-punk and i was like omg need new bands and i heard that this guy from the lillingtons was in another band called teenage bottlerocket. i like them.
