Just because the media (NME) are currently plugging them doesn't mean everyone who likes them are scenesters? Perhaps some people just like their music?

NME aren't fully plugging them, sure they get a few articles here & there but there was some good reasons as to why not to like them in this week's NME. To be honest, I wasn't moaning about how much NME are "plugging" them, I'm on about the scene kids who are listening to them and then passing it on to other scene kids. But as you said, some people generally like the genre of music and the music that Hadouken! put out. I'd have to agree with the NME writer that they're "grimey" sound/vocals isn't original and ain't that good.
