    as i'm doing the same course as you i'll explain

    coursework = 20 %
    exam we did in june in year 10 = 25%
    combined = 45% of whole course, i got A overall for this out of the 45%
    total for this lot = 270 UMS marks

    one chem, one phys, one biology exam combined = 55%
    total for this lot = 330 UMS marks [110 each]

    this then comes to a combined total of 600 UMS marks

    540 UMS = a*
    480 UMS = A
    etc.

    hope this helps unlike eamonn's course we get one grade. eg.. AA
