I am shortsighted also, do you ever get headaches? I found this a problem so I took off to the opticions and got myself some glasses they have stopped the headaches because I dont have to manually focus my eyes. So I suggest yes get them!

Yeah! I usually get headaches, especially when I'm trying to focus on somthing.

I've got an optician's appointment on sunday, next week - I think.

Lol why would your mom and dad think you *want* glasses?

I have glasses and I hate them, so I haven't worn them for like.. 2 years .

I'm short sighted too but only a little, when i was at school i was getting really bad headaches when i was looking at the board. I went to the opticians and it turned out that i was a little short sighted. I'm 13 and my mum thought I just wanted them as a fashion acessory cos i got channel ones, a girl needs her labels lmao. So I strongly suggest you go before it gets even worse!

it doesn't matter whether you're just a little short-sighted or alot. as long as you're short-sighted, you need glasses/contacts. if you don't get them soon, it might worsen.

avoid watching tv/using the computer/reading (whatever eye activities) for long hours, take an eye break between them (just look out the window and relax your eyes). this is highly suggested as it can help maintain your short-sighttedness at where it is right now.

If you are going to be like
"i want blue contact lenses *+*+*"
no wonder your parents wont let you get glasses

& lSander do you mean you have a -6.00 prescription, you must have really bad vision, both my eyes are -2.75s I think and I thought mine were bad enough O.O
