You'll be surprised at how ******* people can be in any year. I know people in my friend's English class, studying at A level, who don't know the differences between 'their,' 'there' and 'they're,' I also know someone at the same age who didn't even know the latter even existed.

in exams, i actually circle "this is a blank page" and put "with the addition of this sentence, this page isn't actually blank."

Most people know. It is just to prevent arguments. Like "oh I am I supposed to know"

This seems idiotic to us because we keep seeing it but its a good idea because your head might not be there and when you see "turn the page over" on the bottom of a page they will follow instuructions. Schools are just trying to get us to follow what they want so they put things like that on the exams.

    Sorry for the rant

In my GCSE PE exam I wrote loads of acronyms(?) on one of the blank pages to help me.
and after the exam I got told that you need to cross absolutely everything out that doesn't need to be marked, my teacher crossed them out for me + had a stress cos apparently your not supposed to write on the blank pages?
    WTH ARE THEY THERE FOR?!

no they do need to point out the obvious.
the amount of people who miss out a question or two because they see a blank page and think it's the end of the exam is unbelievable.

also; they do come in handy.

You can't take notes into your exam, but you can take thoughts in, if you dont want them all swimming around in your head, write them on the blank pages...
