You need to show her it's not a little craze, helping her out around the house, just being a nice person to show her how much you want this dog. Explain to her that you understand her point, but you are not like your Brother, and all you want is a dog to look after. Don't beg her and then go moody, nobody likes that, and don't over ask her. Say to her straight ' Mum, please don't ignore me, just listen to what I have to say'

    Goodluck...hope this helped.
    Adam.

I know what problem you are going through but not only my mum doesn't want a dog but my dad doesn't want one either. Whoever said they cried and got one, you are one lucky person! Your parents must be a pushover.

Anyway, I have tried to get a dog ever since I was four and look at me now. Thirteen years old, no dog and a two cats which scratch at me whenever I stroke them. Have to admit, I would much rather have a dog. Tbh, it is either a nine year craze or I want a dog. Which one?

Now a suggestion: Tell her the pro's and con's of having a dog and if your dad wants a dog, ask him to talk to her. She cant exactly ignore her own husband. Like other people said, show responsibility... if you can, ask your dad to bring a dog round to the house, maybe a friend's dog or something. Care for it over the weekend and show your mum how good you are at looking after him/her and maybe she will give in. Tell her she won't have to do any of the work, whatsoever (except drive to the vet etc. etc.)

    ignores me.
I've even told her if she buys the food i'll buy everything else and she

She reckons i'll be just like my brother when they had a dog, he didn't walk it or anything.
Anybody got any tips on how to convince her to change her mind?
