My school stopped non uniform days
"innapropiate, pointless and distracts students from their work" sais the headteacher.
I got two hours off lessons to have a 1-1 debate with him about unifromVnon-uniform. oh it was funnnnnnn!
Sometimes we have "Non-Uniform" days, That's usually on a charity event day or something so we all bring in £1 for not wearing uniform but if you haven't got the cash you've gotta still wear uniform. They've changed now the boys traditionally always wore shirt, tie and blazer and the girls would wear a pullover top with the tie and shirt but now the girls can wear the pullover, But they must also wear a blazer ontop of that and that's not optional unless your in the last year (year I'm currently in), Because the change was made when we were into our 2nd year. I'll see if i can find you a picture of it :8.

That's stupid, especially the pay for the car one. They should let you register for free.

thats a NEW rule? you were allowed to smoke before? thats crazy. and i think its reasonable for them to not allow you to listen to ipods or talk on cell phones :/. and i always perceived "trashy clothes" as a bad thing. so why would you want to wear them?
anyway, pretty much all those things are allowed in my school other than smoking. we're laid back for the most part. there'd be riots if ripped jeans weren't allowed.
My school has uniforms =( shirt tie n jumper, im in last year of it though so not too bad =)
Then sixth form can wear w/e they want so is good
there was an area for smokers outside and if it was raining they could smoke inside.thats a NEW rule? you were allowed to smoke before? thats crazy. and i think its reasonable for them to not allow you to listen to ipods or talk on cell phones :/. and i always perceived "trashy clothes" as a bad thing. so why would you want to wear them?

i never understood the argument for school uniforms. people say its so that people won't start conflicts with people who have less money or wear different things. but that's part of the learning in school. you dont just learn from teachers, school is a social learning field. kids have to learn to respect one another's differences for when they go out into the real world where there are no uniforms.
