I think devout christians don't like gay men because it means they waste millions of little lives (if you get my meaning). And it's against the christian laws to kill. Really, I'm probably just chatting **** so if anyone actually knows the answer that'll be a help.

It's actually all to do with interpretation of the bible. To begin with many devout Christians take the whole Adam and Eve thing very seriously and therefore they think this is what God intended for everyone. i.e. Man and Woman get together, multiply and all that stuff. God doesn't mention any man on man action, so there should be none:

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

Then there are other parts of the bible which directly say "homosexuality is bad":

" And with a man you shall not lie with as a man lies with a woman; it is an abomination."
"If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

According to Genesis 6:1 - 4 the sons of God helped with procreation. I assume the ancestors of creatures on Earth, Biblical or not, committed incest unless humans were at one point able to reproduce without having sex though.

In Genesis and parts of other early books of the Bible, people often lived many hundreds of years. What's strange is that Adam didn't manage to get Eve preggers until he was 130 lol.

In answer to the question of gay people, as mentioned God is believed to have given free will to His people, and from this (mixed with sin) many things came about - one of which is sodomy, and therefore homosexuals. The Bible does not say anything about the state of mind that is homosexuality, as it was probably put down as just a physical thing back then, but it does say that the act of sodomy (bumsex for those who don't know) is a mortal sin. There's a part in Leviticus that mentions "no man should lie with man", which basically means two males shouldn't be getting it on.

You aren't born gay. It's more than likely sexuality is an adaptation brought on by your upbringing. That's why gay people tend to be closer to their mothers than their fathers etc. etc. more generalisations etc.
