Well look at more of my posts then, and also a little thing called sense of humour wouldn't hurt. However in this case I'm being serious, and it's a serious issue for me because I endured 12 years of school education where the idiots and vandals got appraisal for whatever little they could do, whilst myself and other top-of-the-class pupils got no recognition at all, but punishment if we ever slipped from our high standards. Thankfully at college it's different, but 12 years of that kind of crap has certainly helped make me the sort of person I am now.

What so you get rewards for not setting your table on fire? kz.

You get rewards for working hard, not not (**** hax) setting things on fire.

No, what I'm saying is that the kids who were (frankly) stupid got rewarded for doing menial tasks and in some cases, just turning up to lessons. Further, my mum used to work for a Pupil Referral Unit where kids who get kicked out of school go, and they used to have trips to theme parks and such all the time. I don't see why troublemakers and fools should get treats while people who deserve them and are likely to go far in life get nothing. It makes no sense at all.

It would be nice if what you said about getting rewards for working hard was true, but it simply isn't, and at any rate if I can outdo everyone else without working hard (as was the case for 2 thirds of my school life) then why should I not get rewarded for being naturally gifted? All it does is give rise to a sense that working hard won't get you anywhere at all, and I've seen a lot of talent (not just my own) being wasted in such a way.

it's not that hard, but perhaps i'm saying this because i'm from my school's drama club. or perhaps not.

i remember once where i had to act for a play infront of the entire school. i was really nervous, but when i was actually up there, i pretended that no one was there watching me, and i did just fine.

perhaps that might work for you too, but it's really very simple, just go up there, shake the prize giver's hand, take the prize, and bow if you're bothered, then go. i hope you don't have to give a speech or anything.

    good luck!

    yep, thats true.

when the ********* who actually shut up once in a while get all the attention, people who persist in their good efforts and grades get absolutely **** all, its so annoying.

When I get shy I just think, 'Ah wth am I doing, lets just go and do this. If I muck up then oh well, everyone makes mistakes and nothing can be changed if I do muck up anyway, so whats the point in worrying.'
