the 25million consist of All parents claiming child benefit and all the kids they claim it for.

I would guess 85% - 95% of the users on this forum are affected

They lost bank account details (that the benefit was paid into)
    national insurance numbers.
    Dates of birth
    Addresses
    etc

All can be easily used in ID fraud and when the child is older the people can use their details to obtain credit etc.

    1. Jeremy 1129 up, 295 downA named based on the biblical name Jeremiah. Used as a name for children who are blessed with a large brain and/or penis. Also used as a replacement for "perfect".
We had a child and it had a very large penis so we named it Jeremy.

it was on 2 disks and posted unregistered using internal post by TNT they dont even know if they were even posted

they had not even encrypted the disks ;o

also it was a junior clerk or something who posted them :s junior clerks have access to some serious data

surely this is against the data protection?

Some people could be in real danger - Even though they have said there is no indication that frauds have the records - Only time will tell.
