just because you tidying up, doesnt mean that its actually tidy. you could move one item and say its tidy, without it being tidy. you should know your mums expectations by now, and i cant see how tidying up is so difficult. she knows that she shouldnt be smoking, and that its decreasing her life expectancy, but using that against her is kinda lame.
