It's pure attention seeking. People who actually do have reasons to self harm wouldn't take photos, and broadcast it to the world, it's something they'd keep to themself. Unlike attention seekers who do nothing but want people to know and tell people they are going to do/kill themself.

Just ignore them and they'll give up because they don't have the attention they want.

Trying to not be mean but people slit either to help with problems or atention you should definatly tell someone e.g. teacher about it because what if it actually kills one of them! Atleast the person slitting will have someone to talk too and good for you for sticking up for your mates, we need more people like you!

If they are self harming for attention then yes they proberbly will be mad at you for telling someone but if they are cutting for a genuine real reason they should be thankful that you are a true friend wanting to help them.
