I dont think you can look at it like that...

If you have the 10.00 or whatever it is for you guys in the UK, and youve got nothing better to do at this point in time why not go ahead and play?
If you enjoy it and have self controle and wont let it take over then its worth it to you. Dont not play because someone is telling you not to.

I think its worth it, £18.85 in game for a 60 days.
The game is only around £8 now.
If you played runescape its only £3/£4 more a month and you get WAY more then runescape.
Dont worry about getting addicted. You can set a time on how long you can play for, say you set it for 3 hours, you can only play 3 hours a day (Unless you change it).
But it depends on what type of game you like really, WoW is more based on leveling and questing. ;P
