    Its probably one of those departures where the tower has gave him clearence but he has to clear a certain altitude within a certain time.

    Some of the posts have made me lol. The 747 is doing a normal take off for JAL. The guy who took the photo was already in-flight at some altitude and most likely had a camera which has a good zoom.
