Its also a nickname for richard? So not nesseasary always rude though?

Well any people called **** will have to change their name - could be a discrimation case there. Equal rights for all people called ****! Anyway I don't think that word is particuarly offensive. It you call somebody a **** head and it is offensive then they can be warned under the rudeness rule rather than the filter rule. After all we can say penis, tool, mans best friendP) - can't see that any worse although these can be used in a vulgar way which could be seen as inappropriate and there is a rule to cover that too.
I do not like the other word though that Gommel cites - I do find it pretty vulgar and quite offensive. But that's just my opinion and personal preference.

Would you even need to filter it? Anyone that calls someone a **** head and are serious will just be made a laughing stock. Although, that maybe a reason for blocking it so that members don't use any other offensive words to make fun of said member.

I see both sides of the argument and am quite undecided about the whole situation. While I would laugh if someone called me a **** head for their lack of insults, but I think the word is offensive to some people.
Same for **** and it's variations, while I use it on a regular basis, some people don't like it. But I also think that shiz is the same, I only use shiz to stop myself from saying ****.
So I don't know how this would go about, lucky for me it's not my job to decide![]()
You said it yourself, some people may not like it. The majority should get what they want unless there is some deep, historical reason for it to be filtered e.g. Hitler and anything related. For some people, the very mention of Hitler makes people angry. Besides, if you don't like a word, take a lesson from real life and that would be to simply ignore it.

And if you say "I ****** up someones leg" wouldn't you be considered a laughing stock? Besides, that's not offensive, maybe inappropriate but loads of things are.
And you just rubbed salt into whoever's job it is to deal with it, Joshuar![]()

That's very true - you don't have to use them and whilst I find the word you mention first quite vulgar I am probably in a minority. Mentor is right it couldn't really be used in an insulting way at all.You said it yourself, some people may not like it. I agree to some extent. I will discuss this with the rest of forum management and see what they thinkYou said it yourself, some people may not like it.
