I think you not only need to buy her a present, but some flowers also. A nice little card saying "Sorry" on them might be a start.

In terms of what else to do, we don't know what your mum likes!
I totally agree and a big hug is she is still awake.

    No but she's really sad.

I feel so bad, I got home from school at five, I thought it was the 10th today and she kept acting funny and I kept asking, and then at about 7:40 I checked my reminders on my phone, saw it, freaked and ran to say sorry but it was too late...

I made a card on the PC for her, I'll print it off and leave it in the kitchen for when she wakes up once I've left for school.

Thanks for help guys... I did buy her a card and a present but I gave the card to my sister as with the present and my sister acted like the good child saying it was all my fault - It's the teacher who wrote 10th of Feb on the board

    Don't admit you forgot..
Just buy something and say that it was supposed to come on her bday but didn't.
    Blame it on someone else.

wth.. My mum always starts going on about her birthday like a week before it

So your mum couldn't of been looking forward to it if she didn't mention it to you...

not really true. for me, i don't really like mentioning my birthday a week before, so that on the actual day itself i can really see who remembers and who forgets.

anyway, to the thread starter. next time, perhaps put the reminder with an alarm at the start of february so that you won't have to rush to find a present at the very last minute. spend some time thinking about what you want to get and plan well.

for now, you can probably lie (as mentioned above by many others ) and get her a present or if you want, just admit that you have forgotten and give her a sorry card, a present and things like that.

and just order her a cd or something

we all forget things sometimes, dont stress, just apologize, give her a nice card, buy her some flowers, chocolates, perfume, a nice gift you think she'll like and tell her you love her & hug her.

tisnt as if she wont forgive you, youre her child!
my mum wouldnt hold a grudge against me for forgetting
(nowadays television tends to do that to te youth!)

I did this once, it was in 2007, it was her most recent birthday. And she was totally sad and making me feel guilty, my birthday is a month after, she didn't get me anything :/

    eek.
    That went fast.
