Because people are getting the hang of php and found out that its a hell of alot easier to run your website via a cms rather than updating code everytime you add a new web page.

It's just who can edit who's code and copy a feature from a well known brand and enhance it into there "own" system.
The one who hides the stolen code the best obviously gets the more praise.Hi
