dont give him any of your car details, if he asks for model then yeah thats it. as people have replied above, just reply telling him its nothing to do with you now as it was fully working when you had it, and its been in his possession for some time. you are covered by paypal & ebay...

hes probbaly dropped it or something, If it arrived broke, then it would be different, it might of been postage, but 18 months down the line? His fault for breaking it isnt it.

If it was 18 months ago, and then it broke, it's nothing to do with you. If when he got it was broke then I'd understand but there is nothing you can or should do about it now. Just ignore the guy.

Sounds like its his fault it "broke" and he wants to blame you

Tell him its not your problem as it worked when you had it

I sent him an e-mail and told him that I was not responsable for it, especially 18 months later.

If it was a year and a half ago then it probably broke when he was using it. Ask him that and if he says it was broken when he got it then say he should have told you then. Simple. If he does open any paypal dispute then he doesn't have a chance.

tell us what he replies if you get one back seems kinda stupid of him to contact you 18months later about it though

That's the risk when you buy second-hand items off eBay. Aslong as it works for a couple of weeks after you've bought it you're then responsible for any damage.
