    1) Is it possible?
    2) We would have to host a couple thousand smilies on the forum to be able to do that.

Expanding on number two, we would have to keep every smiley ever made saved to the Habbox Server. They'd have to be saved on the server so that you couldn't change the imagepath and put something vulgar there, and they'd need to stay on the forum so that little red x's didn't pop up everywhere after people lost VIP

    It is possible.

You can make different smilie categories on the Admin CP.

Why can't we just go along with someones idea... theres nothing bad about it.

Yeah, probably not totally worth it, however perhaps a wider selection of pre-mades?

Thats a pretty good idea. I also think VIPs should have the power to make a certain style default for all their posts, like someone mentioned once.

Hmmm, it's an OK idea but it won't work. When someone's VIP runs out what happens to the smiley? If it stays then the VIP member, who is now a regular member, has a smiley he can use forever which is a good thing, but is it necessarily good for Habbox?

Too many smilies ruin a forum. If you want to be different, save the image tag to your user notes or keep photobucket open on another page/tag.

It's one extra job for the VIP editor which already has far too many jobs. Unless you ask whoever is in charge of Senior Management or 'Assistant General Managers' to hire someone to help out the VIP area.

Well uhm... It'd be like a namechange really, since you keep that even though youre non-VIP. How about when their VIP runs out, they have to remove a certain amount of smiles and keep the rest? Like, they have 5, and they have to remove 3 since they're an ex-VIP now. Sound good?

Too many smilies does ruin a forum... I guess. Hm, now you say that I'm not that sure. As for the VIP editor, there's a big need for another one.

Ah but smilies have to saved and take up space, while a name only takes a few bits of space (or less if the name is shorter than before) so they're different space wise It means alot of effort on the members and VIP editor side, which will cause aload of problems. I don't even think people use their own smilies all that often anyway. You'll need alot of members to want their own smilies for a change on here anyway

Yeah, I guess thats right. There is a need for a new VIP feature though, but management keep on dismissing ideas because they're either hacks, or they just can't be bothered adding them. it's seriously annoying.,

Did you even bother to read my post outlining the flaws with the idea before immediately deciding that management was simply being adversarial. Please, look before you post.

Now that, is a more plausible idea, that is something we can look into.

That is a hack that might mess with code, I don't know as I'm not a techie, but if its inserted into the forum code itself it can be dangerous. Also, I don't believe there's a hack out for our current version for that. Finally, do you really want to see a myriad of colors everywhere you go? For example, I could customize my font as this:

    HI GUYS!!!1

    Then the next post

    YO DUDEZ

Seeing posts in that and different colors would make it look really wierd around here and difficult to read unfortunately.

Then the other three would end up being deleted and there would still be red Xs all across.

I'm sorry to be extremely confrontational, but its really getting on my nerves that people are making these generalizations and jumping on bandwagons that are like HEY LETS BLAME THE MANAGEMENT FOR EVERY LITTLE THING THAT WE DON'T LIKE!! Hacks, fair enough, because we do use that argument, but can you please find me the last post where we said that we just can't be bothered adding a hack?

It really ticks me off because I actually spend time replying and thinking of legitimate responses to posts, and yet I have people replying TWO posts after me saying that there's nothing wrong with the idea and I'm just saying I'm not for it because of me being management and therefore resisting any possible change that could POSSIBLY benefit the members. Because I'm management of course, and therefore corrupt abusive inactive unproductive uncaring uncooperative unhelpful etc. etc.
