yeah that's true, it's not exactly the same here though, you can drink water, but going without food for 24 hours? we only fast from dawn to dusk.
24 hours is pretty long. as mentioned, you should really eat, a heavy meal if possible, before you start 'fasting' for a day. drink lots of water too to keep hydrated (sp?).
It will only make you feel tired but thats it but if you drinks with quite alot of sugar in them then you probably wont feel tired but just slight hunger pains.
