but what would ne the best for gaming, around the same price from that builder
The same, but with the Corsair HX 620 PSU and the x64 version of Vista. Why not build yourself completely from scratch? You could save around £50 and if you pirated Vista it would be even more.

If the hard drives aren't being raided then you may as well get the secondary drive as storage so go with capacity.

The GTS will be fine for now.

When people say the GT is the best, they are very wrong. The 8800GT are only the best in terms of price:performance ratio.

Nick, it can use 3GB, it will just be a slow 3GB because it is 2x2GB sticks.

You can't use half a RAM stick can you? :S.

The price is a little high...:S I am looking to build a PC with around the same specs as you, got £300 cheaper. The OS is not what you need. You need the 64 bit to use the full 4GB you are going to buy, and be able to use up to 8GB RAM in the future.

Consider this package - building it YOURSELF
    :

Mobo : ASUS P5KC AiLifestyle Series iP35 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard

    Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping (2.4GHz 1066MHz) Socket 775 L2 8MB

    RAM
    : Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory

HDD: Seagate ST3500320AS 500GB Hard Drive SATA II 7200rpm *32MB Cache*

    DVD: Sony DRU-190S 20X DVD±RW DL & DVD-RAM Serial ATA - Retail Multi Bezel & Nero

Case: Antec Nine Hundred - Gaming Case with 200mm Top Fan - No PSU

PSU: Corsair HX Series 520W Modular PSU - ATX12V v2.2 APFC

Heatsink: Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro Socket 775 Processor Cooler

    TOTAL: £518 inc del. - www.ebuyer.com

All you need to buy then is your graphics card and hey presto, a brill system The system I have reccomended would be alot better on the cooling side of things, plus the RAM is a better make.

As Nick said, it is more sensible to build it yourself, like I am and get a dodgy copy of 64 bit Vista and get a keygen for it.

I built almost the same pc for £100 less (the first system). But prices for the Q6600 etc have gone down a bit, which means you can build the first system A LOT better.

And Nick, i read on OCN that it will, and looking at my 32bit dual boot on here it will use half of one. And to be honest, im happy I DIDN'T pirate Vista, I haven't had all the god damn headaches with cracks etc..

Change the HDD to at least a single 500gb or duel.

I think the system that you've chosen above is a very good base to work upon. Course you'll probably benefit with a larger hard drive to use for music or just getting rid of one of the raptors and throwing in a 500GB+ HD instead.

Otherwise that PC would satisfy you without any problems at all, course you'd also need to sort out the OS to a 64bit version of Vista.
