Help with priest!

Hey Lost Prophets i've recently level'ed a priest to 70, and shadow is the only way to go.

This should be your talent build at level 40.

This is what you should aim for: Level 68

Last two points can be spent any which way.

This is a leveling build not a shadow raiding build!!

Also if you keep a set of healing gear you can heal all instances with a shadow build untill 68+. Don't tell the PUG your shadow spec, they'll never know the difference.

I've never seen you levelling a priest, unless my knowledge mistakes me. Survivability lasts as long as your mana pool

but if they have ok gear, they can simple outheal the mob and live. i fail to see how shadow would help...

How'd you work that one out? The holy tree has offensive talents and if anything provides more survivability than shadow as you have the ability to heal efficiently and put out mildly decent damage.

Shadow isn't the strongest (or anywhere near) dps at 70 either, spriests are mainly used as they offer many people in the raid different things. For example the Misery debuff increases all spell damage done on that target by 5% therefore benefitting every caster in your raid. Not to mention VT which essentially makes you a mana battery for healers / caster dps.

I levelled as holy, do my dailies as holy and raid as holy without ANY problems.

I think it's best to take advice from people who actually have 70 priests.

Though shadow is good DPS, I find it somehow easier to grind mobs in holy.. maybe it's because it's hard for me to die. I can pop a renew on myself, shield, prayer of mending and whilst that's up still dish out 1k damage every 2 seconds which isn't that bad, it gets the job done. It's up to you which spec to go, most people go shadow just like I did for levelling but holy is equally as good. Disc I'm not sure about for levelling... but it's good for healing with all the bonuses and stuff.
