No, no, no. I'm sure that year 10 exams are ONLY to decide your sets for year 11. People think they are really important exams because of this, but the truth is, your school will almost definately mess around with the sets only a few months into year 11. So if you do really bad on them and get moved to a lower set but do good classwork/coursework, they'll move you up a set or two.

Internal exams are fleetingly used to decide sets, but I believe a lot of that is based on teacher intuition as well as the results so they aren't critical.
