    The other way would have text on it, and not an image that is being linked..

    No, anytime you put <a href="#">test</a> it shows the text..

    Ahh sorry got my coding mixed around, just checked that I inserted the image then typed out text with the href

    Looks too dull, it looks like this scott-thompson.co.uk - and that looks terrible, if your going to design like that I reccomend you give up.
