My freind did that yesterday, while me and 2 others were talking she went off with this other girl and completely ignored us for the rest of the night. :@
They do it to become more popular, but it really doesn't work.

wrong. you cant just assume things like that, i'm sorry. i've had friends ditch me for other friends, but it was probably because they thought they would have more fun with their other friends. i think its usually understandable.
like in the case on the first post. he's doing ditching you for other friends. notice how YOU is one person and FRIENDS is more than one. he'd probably have more fun with more than one friend. plus, if he said that you could come too, you can't complain. he doesnt have a commitment to you. yeah, it sucks that he ditched you when you already made plans, but oh well.
epic fail
Really I think you said the solution your self, your going off to work soon and there will be many new people there who you will meet and to make friends with. There isnt anything wrong with going out with your friend who ditched you, just dont let it get you down and another thing I thought worked well for me, I tryed to get on with my friends friends who I may not like, I meet there friends etc etc and get on with them so ye give it a go and if it really dont work out then atleast you can say you tried!
..... You aint got more then 1 friend tht u go out with???? i suggest u go get some
Oh great. Well if he is going to do that to you then maybe you should fine another friend because you probably deserve better. By the sound of things he cannot be trusted. So try and confront him about it and just see what he says. Ask him why he has been such a horrible friend. I hope it goes ok.
