As Invent correctly said, there is no need for you to see the results. You will be able to tell what the results are from our changes implemented.
The main reason they are hidden is so people are not affected by the current votes.

Could there be an abstain option like there usually is for people who don't want to vote so they can get it off the index? It will help unaffect the results even more because then people can vote abstain instead of any old ramdom option to get rid of the poll.

There was a feature like this on punBB (i think it's myBB now) where you could "null" vote. I'm sure if someone has a look around it could be a plausible plugin?
