The Godfather Part I is grossly overrated. It's 3 hours of unneeded scenes and dialogue. The two sequels outshine it immenseley.

It's good, but not "great", like I said, boring unneeded scenes. The second is brilliant, as is the third.

Well if it's their favourite film I'm pretty sure they're going to give it 10/10. I know I'd give my favourite film 10/10. The general public don't rate films seriously - If they love it, then to them it's a 10/10.

I dislike the entire trilogy. I don't like Scarface either.

I am afraid I'll have to pick a bone with you here...
so you will never give a film a 10/10 rating?

That's ********, 10/10 doesn't necessarily mean it has to be perfect, just the best/one of the best you've seen.

So if you have never given out a 10/10, and never will for no film is perfect, the highest rating you'll ever give is 9/10.
Thus, 9/10 is the highest that means that 9/10 is perfect, you never rate a film as perfect so you give it an 8/10.
    Thus, 8/10 is the highest...
    you get my gist.

Stop being a pompous, pretentious fool and realize 10/10 can just be the greatest films you've personally seen, yeah?

No, 10/10 means the film has no flaws whatsoever, thus, making it perfect.
