    Ahh good point,

And yes that speedtest is correct:

This service connects subscribers of NTT East/NTT West to their Internet service providers via a high-speed optical fiber network at speeds of up to 100 Mbps/1 Gbps.

Catch up? Japan hasn't even invented the chair yet.

Haha, lucky people over there. Wish we could get faster speeds but our ISPs will probably charge us a bomb.

Lol of course they do. A fair amount of institutes will have 100Mbps like small-mid sized universities and large companies. Large universities will have 1Gbps type access and large web based companies. Large data centres will have several 10Gbps connections, 2.5Gbps conections, many 1Gbps connections and maybe one or two 40Gbps connections.

We have 100mbps at college, mind you, we share a link with university next to us. The exchange is also across the road(not sure if that makes a difference with fibre optic).
This is our situation and we're happy to be here,
I wouldn't change this place for anything.

It's because Japan are like 10 years ahead technology wise.
That's why we seize the moment, try to freeze it and own it, squeeze it and hold it cause we consider these minutes golden.
