    how's everyone's insurance so high? I'm 17, fully comp as a named driver on a 1.9 golf with no pass plus, lol.

    i'm the star in the reasonably priced car!

    I have a 1.4 98 corsa, 1600 quid to insure third party

    You mean a Corsa? Their okay for first cars, good on insurance, but I have heard they seem intimidating for first time drivers as they appear larger then what they seem behind the wheel. Not the ugliest of first car choices neither, I think they look pretty sweet.

    Surely if your a named driver your the one who owns the policy
    and 3rd party is when your on ur parents?

    Named driver is where you're listed as a driver on your parent's insurance, but you're just an occasional driver sort of thing.

    3rd party insurance is where if you have an accident and it's your fault only the person who you hit is insured. Then there's 3rd party fire & theft which is the same as 3rd party but covers you if it gets stolen or gets set on fire. Fully comp is the best but most expensive as it covers everything. You could be a named driver or the policy holder on and insurance type.
