    now

    click video -> aspect ratio.

    and keep choosing the different ones till it suits you

    or use the GOM player, it better for hd movies and does things like watch the movie in 2 screens, so i assume it would know how to sort it problems out with a bigger screeen

    Change the screen resolution to the native res of your TV or as close as it will go.

    For Windows XP right click desktop > properties > setings tab > drag the slider relating to the TV to whatever res it it. Maybe something like 1360 x 768.
