Install Linux onto PS3?

No, you partition it etc... (the PS3 does it for you) then you can just choose to boot Linux from the XMB menu.

While in Linux you can't get to your PS3 files or play games until you exit back to the XMB.

ahh right, would take me ages though becuae id have to tranfer 40GB off my PS3 then transfew it back when ive finished it all -.-

It being a laptop HDD doesnt really help either

Nooo,the PS3 files are still on the PS3 partition, you just cant get to them in Linux

I caved and bought one too, £300 from Argos for an 80GB PS3, 2 games and an accessory pack, deal of the year IMO

I will deffo be installing Linux, but I can't have it until Christmas LOL
