Looks good for your second alt.

The middle of the clock isn't quite in the middle so if you sort that out it will look better and as Squirted has already said, add some numbers.

The actual clock = 6.5/10

The hands aren't in the middle.

To the find the center of a circle, draw two STRAIGHT lines (that means totally straight on paint, not diagonal or pixel-error-y in any way). They will go through the center. The place where two lines cross over in the middle.
