question about the cervical cancer jab

I'm so worried about getting cervical cancer.. I may get my Doctor to give me the jab.

Does anyone know if/ when year 9's are getting it?
i heard that we apparently weren't becasue theres a risk some people in the year ave had sex so it wont work, but wouldnt the risk be there in other years aswell as ours?

this year and last year they've been giving it to year 8's and sixth form students

after they've offered it to most of them then they will move on

im year 8 & ive only had one
when they put it in it pinches & then you can feel the liquid running down your arm & then your arm feels numb for few days but otherwise its all good next one in feb i think

You do know its for cervical cancer (preventing) so its for girls only? :p

Year 12/13's are getting it done in 09/10 I think and then they will start working their way down or wait untill everyone gets to year 11 to give it to them.

Yeah, the NHS said something about it being pilot'd in scotland now then 09 introducting it for year 11, 2010 for year 10 etc so you'll get one in the next few years

Ans no, I don't know because I'm male. I don't see how having sex makes the jab dangerous, anyone care to explain?
