I prefer earphones, but that's because I don't have speakers.
If you are alone, I think speakers are fine, but if you're in an apartment where family is near, I think headsets are better

At first wearing a headset feels strange, but you get used to it.

I use a Microsoft lifechat Lx3000 Headset,
Its well cool, it makes me look look like a pilot apparently.
Its not bad its only £30.00 from argos,
