    I'm not sure but I imagine the black is similar to the red and can only record Pal 50 and not 60 I think Best to go with plantium, it's really good.

    It's confusing because the black one is called video creator platinum and the silver one is just called video creator and you're telling me to go with platinum So which is the real platinum?

    The silver is actually a Dazzle DVC 170 (Dazzle Plantium)

    Ok. Thanks for the help! I found the splitters for 1p each so i'm getting the 3 for 3p

    I read a few reviews and apparently it only records to DVD though. Do I need DVDs to record then?

    It's optional but you can just hit record and when you stop the recording it'll save in My Videos and there's a file you can automatically open in Sony Vegas and get any editing done, then just hit make movie, select .wmv and when it's finished rendering your video will be ready to upload to YouTube

    You can't record with anything on HDMI which is an ********. Even with my HD recorder I've had to lose a tiny bit of quality using Component cables instead.

    Or Studio 10 which is easyer to cut clips.
