The whole point in the forum initially is to inform other people of news that they might not be aware of, they go ohm and go have a look. I am always coming across stories that i have not heard about and the forum is a great source for spreading information that interests others. How they post it is up to them and is their right to be honest.

I'm sure there'll be ALOT more on BBC per day than posted on here.

Putting a BBC feed or something would effectively kill the world news section imho.
I didn't say we needed a BBC News feed, I'm saying if they're taking the approach of having URLs posted then we may as well have a news feed as in essence it's exactly the same. Obviously you wouldn't choose an entire BBC News feed, you can get RSS Feeds for specific categories but clearly most the stuff posted is either very big news or 'silly news' so it wouldn't be appropriate. A good source for odd news is: http://news.yahoo.com/i/757

Well that wholey depends on what you class as a 'Quality' post, I guess it differs from person to person. I think all posts should be constructive and include one's opinion, this is perhaps where my opinion differs to the forum's management, and with this being a teen forum it's perhaps appropriate that Quality posting isn't too harsh but I generally get bored of reading crap.

I always thought the section was to discuss news not a collaboration of news reports that people have put together. I don't see it as a 'right' if they don't have a single word to say on the matter other than a URL, I see that as pointless posting for one reason or another. Thread starters should initiate debates from the original post not wait for other people to start debating for them so their thread can be seen as 'successful'.

The section is also losing it's point a little because half of the news is posted in the ever redundant 'Discuss Anything' forum, it's sometimes posted in both.

I think I would rather see a news post written by the BBC.

    Habboxforum user:

2day a bomb blew up on a bus.

    BBC:

In the early hours of this morning, a small bomb was detonated on the 624 bus in London. Nobody was hurt and the terrorist was killed in the explosion.

    ----------------------------------------

Yeh, the BBC offers a better, more detailed and less biased news report. So I would much rather read a pasted news report than someone having ago at being the next Trevor McDonald.

The feed doesn't matter. You can go ahead and disagree on the BBCs views if you like and thats what the world news forum is there for.
