So yeah, it means you should calculate problems in this order: Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication & Division, and Addition & Subtraction.

    A) A = 16 + 2*4/8-2
    A = 16 + 8/8 -2
    A = 16 + 1 - 2
    A = 15

    B) A = (16 + 4 * 2) / (8 * 4 + 2)
    A = (16 + 8)/(32 + 2)
    A = 24 / 34
    A = 0.7

    C) D = D + 8

    Someone else should verify (i might have messed up one of the calculations). I'm also not sure on C? Did you mistype the problem?
    ah, i thought it was that. we call it bodmas though. (brackets of division, multiplication, addition and subtraction.

    but, if D = D + E,
    D - D = E
    0 = E

    which is why i think its a misprint. If the two Ds were different, as in d and D then it would be 12, yes.

    we call it BODMAS or BIDMAS, and its brackets, indices, division, multiplication, addition, subtraction

    Just follow BIDMAS which tells you the order on how to tackle equations and such.

    Brackets
    Indices
    Division
    Multiplication
    Addition
    Subtraction

    So the answers are:

    A) 15
    B) ~0.7
    C) 12

    To be fair, C was really easy unless I'm missing something?

    C) can't be 0, because in his explanation he says he's looking for D, not E. So I'm guessing they're two different Ds?

    And for BODMAS, isn't it Brackets, Order, Division - Where Order just means the same as Indices?

    So confused lmao. I got people shouting so many different answers. I typed C correctly. Does it have to use BODMAS/BIDMAS?

    YES LUCAS!! for the last time!! BIDMAS/BODMAS IS A GENERAL RULE FOR ALL MATHS PROBLEMS! AND C SURELY CANT BE 12, BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHAT D IS!

    D = D + E <- D can only be D, it cant be D + E as E is a number, which would make D a different number not D. if that makes sense

    if it was d = D + E then yeh, d = 12

    Then C surely can't be 0, because you know that E is?

    Exactly, thats why i think the questions wrong

    if you think its 12, you have two values for D, 4 and 12.. yeh
    so you can just keep going on forever, 12 + 8 = 20,

    so now you have 4 , 12 , 20, unless you want to make a sequence, so then it would be D = n*4 + 8 where n is the term number lol

    A = 16 + 2 x 4
    16 + 8 = 24.
    (8/2 = 4)
    24 / 4 = 6

    A = 16 + (4 x 2)
    16 + 8
    24
    divide by
    8 x 4 + 2
    34
    34

    so 24 divide by 34 whatever that is :S

    4 = 4 + 8
    the 4 crosses over to the other side and as its a multiply you divide
    so 4+8 = 12
    divide by 4
    3

    HOW COME YOU ALL GOT DIFF :@:@:@ i have no idea how u all got that, dont listen 2 me tho

    edited 2nd one i got tht wrong n prob da rest
