Nokia 5800. You should be able to get one on eBay for between £170 and £200. The camera is a meagre 3.2 MP, but everything about the phone is excellent. It has 3G and Wi-Fi, so it's excellent for browsing the internet (full screen in either orientation), receiving emails, and just about anything you need from your phone.

It is not as feature-packed as the iPhone (with all its apps), but there are still plenty of applications for the 5800, with more being developed. The built-in Nokia Maps is excellent. The calendar features are fantastic, and it takes seconds to sync my calendar and contacts to my Mac via Bluetooth.

I foolishly killed my first 5800... but I liked it so much I have a new one.
