Nice to know he's made an article which he nicely sinks into :rolleyes: Although I did find the funeral a bit much, it's not like we should care. I would of thought more from him to be honest, he has sunk to an all time low. He cannot talk or criticise her, he is a celebrity just like Jade - virtually worthless if the public didn't somehow relate to him in one way or another. I hate celebrity hypocrites, but thankfully he didn't sink as low as Katie Price/Jordan.

He's not saying like it's her fault she was brought up on a bad estate or anything, he's saying it's classic England, and this is how our country is always portrayed, and that it's a bad idea to have an idol that is someone that has been brought up like that.

His reason is the same as the one of what critics of Jade Goody say, they state that she was after publicity which she herself said she was. Yet here we have someone like Parky who is also seeking publicity yet you are all prasing him for doing exactly the same thing as Jade, the only difference being Jade did it for a good reason.

Newspaper reports said the outpouring of grief and sea of flowers had echoes of Princess Diana's funeral.
But Sir Michael said: "Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it's significant, it's nothing to be proud of.
"Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di."
The 74-year-old added: "When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today.
"She was brought up on a sink estate, as a child came to know both drugs and crime, was barely educated, ignorant and puerile.
"Then she was projected to celebrity by Big Brother and from that point on became a media chattel to be manipulated and exploited till the day she died."
He added: "What bothers me is that the media first of all recommended we hate Jade Goody - 'a (not sure why this word is filtered) with a face like a pig', remember? - and shortly thereafter tried to persuade us to celebrate her."
He also pointed to role models that people should aspire to - rather than people who had just become famous through reality TV shows.
"Certain people gift you ambition," he added.
"When I saw Tom Graveney I wanted to be a professional cricketer. When I first set eyes on Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca I wanted to marry her.
"And seeing Alan Whicker on television gave me the idea that a life in telly might be fun," he said, adding: "One out of three ain't bad."

Hmm, the full article makes a more interesting read and doesn't particular target Jade but the media around Jade. The cut-up version Bef quoted made it sound like Parky was attacking Jade :/

He's right, the only similarity between Jade Goody and princess Diana is that they were hounded by the media and it ultimately cost both of them their downfall. Different ways but still, Jade ended up being vilified as the only person in the history of the world to be racist amongst other things and Diana was killed.
