I've seen gate stacking obv But never close mat stacking. I know des, nikeboy6, did some with pines a while ago.

Pines don't really surprise me, you can stack pretty much anything as close as possible, 1 pixel apart. Here is a nice example;

I thought it looked quite good, but just black makes it look ugly and plain.
Should of added white mats and inverted them or something.
