Maybe there is something wrong with the water? If you've not cleaned it in a while then do so... I can't really think of anything else.

Do water tests, and have you cycled water for a min of 3-6 weeks?

I haven't tested the water but it might be too alkaline. Since I added three guppies and one of the barbs that died had bleeding gills.

Them fish are probs contaminated, you can get this stuff which you put in the water to uncomtainates the water.

Used to have loads of tropical fish - Angel fish, blue neons, guppies and a angel fish. One of the guppies had loads of babies and the angel fish was eating them all, so we had to get a net for the babies.

Oh dear. This is not good at all. Guppys are very tough tropical fish. They can withstand temperatures from 21 - 29 degrees centigrade. Also, they are comfortable in a PH ranging from 6 - 9 so if your temp or PH was not right for your guppys then most of your other fish would also be dead/dying. What you need to do is get one or even all of them out with a net and put them into a a see through platic bag (like the ones that they come in when you buy them) which has water from the tank in. Take it to your local fish shop and ask them to check them out.

Do you have a test kit such an ammonia, nitrAte and nitrIte? As all of these conditions should be 0. Ammonia is a toxin that is very harmful to fish and if your filter hasn't developed the essential bacteria then the ammonia in teh tank will damage the fish. Nitrite also is very bad for fish and on your tests this should be a reading of 0.
If you do not have these test kits i reccomend API master test kit, it has all the essential tests packs you need.
If, as you say there were no symptoms on the fish then have you done something to the evironment? Placed anything new in teh tank, or could anything have dropped in? Or have you sprayed aerosol sprays near the tank, as this will kill the fish.

    I hope this has helped.
