ugh. you're such an embaressment. 16 is a fine legal age for ALL sex but really you should just do it when you're ready.I think the age for gay sex should be 16 (which it currently is)
And for straight sex it should be 18+. I say this because alot of 16-17 year olds won't have that much experience of looking after their own and may need parenting classes. Also they would have to drop outta college/school to look after the kid while their parent(s) are at work.
that's what they actually try to do.
they're just not pushing enough
I dont know tbh what the right age should be, I had sex at 15
but I think the 16+ rule seems to be fair enough.
There isn't one, some people think the "right" time is when you're married, when you're in a relationship for a certain amount of time or other beliefs so it can be any age at all. I'd just say the right time is when you want to, there isn't a specific age, if you're mature and happy to then why not & the legal age is fine.
Legal age being 16 works because a lot of people are obviously ready at 13/14 as a lot of people do it at this age (certainly a massive amount of people have sex underage) but the legal age being higher rather than down at 14 or whatever means that the likelihood of people MUCH younger (say under 12) trying to have sex should be lower. If the legal age was 14 then it stands to reason that people under this age will then want to do it as being underage always has that thrill to it, like it or not.
As for the "right" age, that depends on different people. Some people are fine to do it at 12 maybe but I know I certainly wasn't back then, and some people I've heard haven't been ready until into their 20s
16 is fine
15 if your cool :8
legally, i think the age should probably stay at 16.
morally, i think you should be able to have sex whenever you feel ready. if you feel you "trust" someone at 14, and you WANT to have sex, as long as it's safe; why the hell not?
freedom, maaan.
I agree with this. I think it should stay at 16, but if people want to do it underage and feel comfortable then they should be allowed to.
The way the world is these days, people have sex like its no big deal. I'm not one of these people who believe in no sex before marriage or anything, but I just know loads of people who have just basically had sex with anyone (even if they wern't together) or a week or two into the relationship.
I mean what's the point in that? Sex loses all meaning then tbh. That's just my opinion anyway.
sex in general lost a lot of meaning to a lot of people a long time ago.The way the world is these days, people have sex like its no big deal. it's society's problem that sex means nothing to young people anymore, not the young person's issue.
