Recording / pauseing and all the added extras can also be easily added at the software level with this method.

Only downside is the pc needs to be on to play tv, and you may end up with msn/skype going in the background :p

Short of that though you would have to buy a dedicated tv and use it as a moniter, rather than a monitor to use as a tv else it wouldnt come with the tv tuner needed to decode the signals its sent. For primarly pc usage though i'd recommend having a proper moniter over a flat panel tv, they support much nicer resolutions
It's Monitor, hate to be a grammer Nazi :/

I think the 4870 has a 1gb, I have the X2 version (Twice as powerful) and I have had no problems with that so the standard version must be even better

Tbh I'd decide your graphics card then your PSU, if your only going to have a card that requires 1x 6-pin connector rather than 2 you could probably save yourself some money, aswell as this your motherboard only needs one 4-pin connector for the CPU power. I have a 700w PSU (It's the OCZ GameXSteam) which runs my 4870 (2x 6-pin), a DVD burner and 2 HDDs, aswell as powering the motherboard and CPU obviously, which requires 2 4-pin connectors. So unless your planning on using more devices than this (and even then you'll have plenty of spare connectors) you probably won't need anything much more powerful.

In regards to a graphics card, depending on what monitor/TV your planning to use, you probably won't make much use of the full 1GB. I'm running my 512MB 4870 at 1920x1200 and FPS on TF2 doesn't drop much below 90 running all on high with 8x AA. I'd probably say anything at or above that resolution you might begin to benefit from the 1GB. With that been said, you haven't really specified what your demands will be on a graphics card as a standard recommendation for gaming and not clearing out your savings would be a 4770.

Your case also comes with a 450w PSU, not sure if you noticed that but that's somewhere you could possibly save money if needed by getting one without. Don't take a case as less important component though, last thing you want is to put all your shiny new components into some aluminium rubbish, cheaper cases tend to come with little or no screws/standoffs which can be abit of a pain if you don't have any laying around, they alsolack the high quality of that from respectable manufacturers'. Take a look at Cooler Master, Antec, Asus, Silverstone and Lian-Li (if you have that sort of cash ) had my last two cases from Cooler Master and have been very pleased with both.

I can already see someone replying to this with corrections but that's my input :8.

Yeh I know the case comes with a PSU but I can sell that one on I'll think about the pricing too. The reason I am looking for a powerful graphics card is, I do not want to have to buy a new one every year, as games become more demanding
