    I might have a go at this. Theres so many things you can do with the Desktop PC.

    This is how I dual-booted on my laptop;

    Put Ubuntu on a USB stick then installed by booting from usb > logging in > install etc onto a new partition

    That replaced windows MBR thingy with GRUB, so in windows i downloaded freembr i think its called that replaces your MBR, then added the linux swap partition as a new os on the mbr (using that tool - you have to download the new beta version for it to work with the new ubuntu) and now i use the windows loader for ubuntu and windows. (VISTA)
