I'm in almost the same position as you. I have a really good friend, and we've known each other since we were three years old, and she lives next door but one to me. Problem is, I really like her and I have even told her that and she just said she won't ever go out with me because I am like a brother to her. It really does suck getting to really like someone and get really close with them, only to find that your 'too close' to be together lol.

I've gotten over her now, and that is because I have found other girls to my fancy. Its hard to keep away from her though as we always shop together every couple of weeks, and were always talking on msn. Just let time pass, and you will eventually move on and find someone else.

Do you know the song "You belong with me" by Taylor Swift? Well that is my story, down to the very last letter.. I've been friends with this chick for a loong time we talk everyday, whether by SMS or msn or whatever..

So i fell for her last year sometime but i should have known nothing would happen since public transport around her sucks and different schools etc.. she got a boyfriend and they broke up twice or something, and she was really hurt.. i suppose i was there to care for her and tell her everything is fine (even if it wasn't) etc.. she trusts me and i trust her, we told each other everything..

Then we started to hang out more, seeing each other maybe 2-3 times a week and texted a lot more.. so i fell for her again.. this time i actually told her how i felt, and i got the dreaded message "i'm going to break your heart.. again!" the only time i threw my phone away when i got a message from her!!

So anyway, now she likes some other guy and i keep by her side..

In a sense i am glad we are not dating, i don't think best friends are meant to date.. if you do then you could lose her for life.. Which to be honest, i don't wanna do!
