I'd rather know where the limit lay rather than hoping you're going to be within their resource policy. Also, if you're only using double figure bandwidth amounts you could get a much cheaper account.

cheap easily, reliable, no chance Connivance is something i'm happy to pay for.

Keep in mind all shared hosts impose the CPU limits, its just most don't specify them outside the small print of the TOS.

I know that none of management actually cares about the web host forum, however I am going to keep bumping this until I at least get a response from management.

Your response will probably be "stop bumping this thread"

Just read through the whole thread, management is very busy this time of year with school starting again and what not so bare with them, Nvr voted in your poll btw. I'll try and attract some attention of management. However, personally as a moderator I have enough to do in the other four sections as well as tech so I could do without what seems to be a pointless rule as everybody already knows it's not unlimited?

As Adam noted I've obviously been watching I thought the argument was playing out rather well with the users themselves so I figured I'd let the argument pan out and see what I thought once they were all made.

But since that just stopped short...I think that Mentor's point shows that its possible for unlimited hosting (in the hosting sense of the word anyway) and its just because the majority of users who post in that forum are inexperienced or young that there is frequently a problem.

I think that in general buyers have a responsibility to pay attention to their purposes and people will usually question those who claim to have "Unlimited" service (rather harshly sometimes ) so I don't think there's necessity for a change.

It's not, Dreamhost will cut you off if you use too much of their resources, "unlimited hosting" never works and never has. There are always restrictions in the small print that allows them to cut you off if you go over the top with it.

Seconded, if you are uploading in a way that uses resources then your site can be suspended. There is a cap stopping you from reaching the Hard Drive limit which is simply resources used for upload and upload speed.
I'm all for un-metered which is really what Mentor has, they don't limit the hard drive space however they do limit the resources meaning, not unlimited.

If anything at least add a note in the 'Your responsibility thread' saying that unlimited is not real or similar.

There would be a buyer responsibility there to know what they're purchasing
